Why We Gather

Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black people in Texas—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

It’s not just a celebration—it’s a reckoning.
And it’s not just history—it’s still in our bodies.
And still under attack.

Our ancestors wore chains—on their wrists, on their ankles, on their necks.
But also on their breath. On their desire. On their joy.

Those chains didn’t all vanish with emancipation. Many were replaced by laws, by lies, by culture. And now, in this moment, we’re watching the state attempt to tighten them again—through book bans, anti-Black policies, transphobic laws, and the violent nostalgia of white supremacy.

It’s not a return to slavery—but it is a return to Jim Crow logic. To surveillance. To shame. To fear.

And in the face of that—we gather.

We gather to grieve what was stolen.
To celebrate what we still carry.
To reclaim the sacred, radical birthright of pleasure.

Because our erotic energy is not extra—it is essential.
It is how our ancestors survived.
It is how we remember who we are.
It is how we practice freedom, not as theory, but as sensation.

Breaking Our Erotic Chains is a free, virtual ritual for Black folks ready to feel their way back to embodied liberation. Through sound, breath, and somatic ritual, we create space to honor the grief, honor the joy, and root deep into pleasure as power.

🖤 Who It's For

This is a space for Black folks only.
Not for allies, not for observation.
We need space where we are not being watched, analyzed, or translated.

What to Expect

  • A 2-hour virtual ritual space guided by breath, sound, and somatic presence

  • A mix of stillness and movement—everything is optional and guided with care

  • Moments of deep release—tears, laughter, sensation, arousal, awkwardness, ease

  • No pressure to perform—come as you are, exactly how you are

  • Camera-on or camera-off—however you feel most free

  • No prior experience with ritual or breathwork required—just consent and curiosity

📣 Spread the Word

Want to invite other Black folks who’d vibe with this? Share this page lovingly.
We ask that only folks who identify as Black register.

🎶 Gatekeeping the Dancery🎶

This is your sacred lil vibe check—our velvet rope against the T.R.A.S.H.
(That’s transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia)
...and any dusty energy trying to sneak in wearing liberation drag.

This ain't a job interview, boo. It's a spell.
One that protects the pleasure, power, and presence of this space.

So take a breath. Answer with honesty, curiosity, and maybe a little shimmy.
If you’re not bringing hateration or holleration, you already belong in the dancery. 🪩
